After living in Northern Virginia for 40 years, my wife and I decided to spend our “Golden Years” in the beautiful Green Mountain state of Vermont where I was born and where our daughter, son-in-law and two little granddaughters reside. As many people do upon retirement, we decided to downsize and divest ourselves of many of our belongings. We contracted with Chris Lancette and Won-ok Kim, proprietors of Orion’s Attic, to conduct our estate sale.
They came to our home twice and, with great patience and sensitivity, explained the process and assisted us in coming up with a list of what we wanted to include in the sale. They worked professionally as a team — first making an inventory, which involved taking pictures and asking questions of us regarding the items to be sold. This enabled them to further research the items in order to come up with a fair price for the sale.
Chris and Won-ok did a highly professional job of advertising the sale, utilizing every modern means of getting the word out, and placing some 38 professionally made signs within a three-mile radius of our home. Â This resulted in a massive turn-out. Over the course of two days, everything we wanted to sell was sold.
