A Great Falls estate liquidation can become complicated when one inheritance includes three houses and decades of personal property. This project crossed the Potomac River and involved three homes.
The family inherited an upscale home in Great Falls, Virginia, plus two properties in Maryland. Its patriarch had left all three houses behind.
The family hired Orion’s Attic to handle every element of the project. We appraised the personal property in all three homes so the family could comply with legal requirements. We also managed the complete estate liquidation and home cleanout at the Great Falls house.
“There was so much stuff in this house, I didn’t think it was possible to get it all done,” Jason Money, son of the deceased, said. “It was just true professionalism all the way through from start to finish.”
See what else he had to say. The story continues below the video.
Appraisals for Legal Requirements
The family needed formal personal property appraisals to comply with legal requirements. We appraised the contents of the Virginia home and both Maryland homes.
Our appraisal work covered personal property only, not the houses or real estate. The family identified the belongings they wanted to keep.
We took responsibility for everything else. We determined which items belonged at auction, which could help others and which required disposal.
This approach removed countless decisions from the family’s shoulders. They did not have to sort every remaining object or coordinate several companies.
One Home, Several Destinations
The Great Falls home contained fine art, antiques, collectibles, fine furnishings, decorative works and many household contents. Each category required a different destination.

We delivered the most valuable pieces to auction on the client’s behalf. The client received the proceeds from those sales.
We brought common furniture and useful household items to a nonprofit serving people who needed them. Then we hauled away the remaining trash.
Our team completed the estate liquidation and home cleanout from beginning to end. The family only had to identify what they wanted to keep.
Memories Made the Work Harder
The volume overwhelmed the family, but memories created another challenge. Each room held belongings connected to years in the home.
“Every room we would go into, we would try to pack up,” Money said. “But then, just so many memories there.”
He said our help allowed the family to detach from those belongings and keep the work moving. Our team handled the physical work and emotional weight together.
“I don’t think that I could have done it in such a quick manner without the help of your company,” he said.
