From Upscale Yard Sales to Full-Service Estate Liquidation Company — A Quick History of Orion’s Attic
A quick history of Orion’s Attic? We have come a long way since we started a hobby job of conducting upscale yard sales in our front yard in Silver Spring, Maryland. We went to auctions and estate sales, bought whatever antiques and collectibles we could stuff in or tie to our Honda Prius, and sold them to make extra money. Something to do for fun, more than anything. We both had demanding day jobs but our love for treasure hunts and reselling was growing strong.
After Lancette’s nonprofit employer was forced to lay off a lot of staff members, we decided to formally launch a company that a business coach suggested we shape in a very specific way — one that matched our values as human beings.
Since incorporating in 2011, our business evolved to running an open-air Flower Avenue Flea Market, selling antiques and collectibles in more than a half-dozen antique malls in Maryland and Virginia, conducting estate sales, and running an impressive eBay operation. We still buy and sell valuable, high-demand collectibles and certain antiques, but our primary focus today is on serving seniors and estate executors burdened by the problems of liquidating estates and downsizing – figuring out what to do with all their stuff.
Orion’s Attic is the green choice for solving your estate liquidation, downsizing and home cleanout needs throughout the greater Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia region. See Our Services for more details on all the ways we can help you.
