Warren Spahn autographed baseball

Left-handed pitching great Warren Spahn may be best remembered for his trademark high leg kick, crooked nose, strike-outs and win total, but he was also a war hero – earning a Purple Heart after enlisting in the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and at the Ludendorff Bridge.

Spahn’s remarkable baseball career spanned 21 years in the Majors – almost all of them with the Braves – plus another decade-plus as a minor league coach and pitching instructor.

The lefty witnessed the unveiling of a statue dedicated to him at Turner Field in Atlanta several months before his death.

This ball is an official National League ball made during William D. White’s tenure as league president. It features a cushioned cork center and is marked RO-N. The signature is in crisp blue ink and appears to be signed by a ballpoint pen. The ball comes in a clear plastic display case. Orion’s Attic obtained the Warren Spahn autographed baseball from the inventory of the AAA Antiques Mall in Laurel, Maryland during its closing sale.

Note that the ball is not valuable enough for us to authenticate but we will refund your purchase if you pay for either PDA or JSA to authenticate the autograph and it fails.
